Shaka Smart and his staff have hit the ground running on the recruiting trail, handing out offers to prospects across the country in 2016 and 2017.
One of the seven 2017 offers he’s handed out belongs to three-star power forward P.J. Washington, who transferred from Dallas Prime Prep to Findlay Prep in Henderson, NV.
Washington, the No. 11 PF in his class, is currently in Hungary competing for the USA 18U national team.
According to his father, Paul Washington Sr., his son is extremely interested in Texas and will keep a close eye on things down in Austin over the next few years.
“He’s very interested in UT,” the dad said. “He has a couple of years left to decide on a college but he’ll be watching to see how Coach Smart’s system works at UT.”
Washington is one of two 2017 PF’s with a Texas offer along with Isiah Jasey (Kileen, Texas/Ellison).
