Is Patrick Vahe Back to Full Health?

Four-star offensive lineman Patrick Vahe had surgery months ago. Is he back to full health?

For those of you concerned that four-star offensive lineman Patrick Vahe won’t be completely healthy for fall camp, here’s your chance to take a big sigh of relief.

Shortly before he moved down to Austin I asked Vahe about his health and if he would, indeed, be ready.

“Three-hundred percent,” he said. “I’m ready for anything.”

That’s obviously great news for a Texas program looking for more consistent play from its offensive line. That unit struggled mightily last season as it endured injury, players in new positions, such as C Taylor Doyle, and a new system.

Vahe is recovering from surgery he had months ago for a torn labrum in his right shoulder. He sustained the injury his sophomore season, but he was tough enough to play through it and still dominate.

He should immediately factor into the two-deep for the Longhorns, who will return starters Doyle, Sedrick Flowers, Marcus Hutchins and Kent Perkins.

Vahe is part of an important offensive line haul for UT in 2015 that also includes JUCOs Brandon Hodges and Tristan Nickelson as well as freshmen Connor Williams, Garrett Thomas and Ronnie Major.
