Demarkus Acy One to Watch

One of the most underrated players in all of Texas checks in from Dallas. The Wilmer-Hutchins standout safety is 6-foot-1, 170-pounds. Demarkus Acy is a three-star defensive back with offers from Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State and Oklahoma to name a few.

Demarkus Acy has numerous offers from schools such as Texas Tech, Air Force, Arkansas State, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State and Oklahoma. He was able to attend the first camp session with the Texas Longhorns this past Sunday.

”I attended the camp with my coaches (Elzie Barnett and Demond Strictland) and my teammate Diameon Brewer,” Acy said. “We arrived around 11 to 11:20am. The first thing I did was talk to a local Austin analyst I guess. Then I was greeted by the Texas coaching staff. I thought I had a great performance overall. Charlie Strong and I shook hands but really didn’t talk.”

Acy is extremely fast and physical. He has great football awareness and excels in man to man coverage. Acy has attended junior days with Baylor, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Arkansas. Diameon Brewer is a 6-foot, 160-pound corner.

”I thought this was the best camp as far as program tradition and this camp was by far the most organized and I believe I will benefit me in the future,” Acy said.
