Kevin Moore Impressed with Texas

Lafayette (LA) Acadiana standout athlete Kevin Moore is fresh off his most recent trip to Texas. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound linebacker was very impressed with what the Longhorns had to offer.

Kevin Moore is a 6-foot-2, 200-pound standout athlete. He has played quarterback and linebacker the last several seasons. It is on the defensive side of the ball where he most likely ends up at the next level.

1. Talk about the overall vibe at Texas and your thoughts on the stadium, facilities and school?

”It's was Amazing,” Kevin Moore said. “As soon as I walked in the facility I was blown away because It's so beautiful! I walked on to the field, and I visioned myself playing in front of a full stadium of Texas fans and I loved it. The vibe was perfect. Austin, Texas was full of great people.”

2. Which coaches did you spend the most time with? What did you talk about in general?

”Well, we spent the most time with Coach Brick (Haley) because he was giving us the tour,” Moore said.” But I had a film session with the linebackers coach Coach Brian (Jean-Mary), and I also had a conversation with Coach [Charlie] Strong. We were just getting to know each other, and he shared some of his wisdom.”

3. What is your impression of Charlie Strong and where does Texas stand for you moving forward?

”After our talk I knew he was a wise and intelligent man,” Moore said. “I think he is a great coach. Right now Texas is high on my list!”

Kevin Moore continued to start at linebacker for the Rams after being moved to quarterback in 2014. All-Area Defensive MVP and All-District Defense finishing with 125 tackles, 33 assists, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, 11 tackles for loss, four interceptions, two sacks, four pass breakups and one defensive touchdown.
