Denzel Okafor has High Praise for Longhorns

Offensive lineman Denzel Okafor had nothing but positive things to say about his UT visit on Tuesday.

The Longhorns continued to gain points with three-star offensive lineman Denzel Okafor (Lewisville, Texas) on Tuesday when the big-bodied bully got some 1-on-1 time with Texas’ staff on an unofficial visit.

Things couldn’t have gone better if Charlie Strong had scripted it.

"Well I came there around 10 a.m. and I finally was able to meet Coach Strong,” Okafor said. “He is as humble, caring, and respectful as everyone said he would be.

“I honestly felt like I was one of the family when I was over there. The whole staff from the training staff, to the coaches, to the athletic fitness training crew were probably one of the best I’ve ever met. They kept telling me that they wanted to develop me into a young man ready to face life and I honestly believe they can do that for me."

Okafor, the No. 45 OT in the country, recently told HD that his top three teams at the moment were Texas, TCU and Texas A&M.

In addition to Texas, Okafor also has offers from TCU, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Baylor, LSU, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Colorado State, Kansas, Minnesota, Oregon State, Texas Tech, Tulsa, UCLA, Utah State, and Washington.

He is one of 15 2016 offensive linemen UT has offered. Tope Imade, a three-star from Arlington (Texas) Bowie, is the only one of those committed to Texas.

Look for Okafor to make his college decision in August or September.
