Jaylon Mascorro Talks Elite QB Academy

Elite playmaker Jaylon Mascorro (Refugio, Texas) just left Texas' Elite QB Academy. He spoke with HD real quick on his way out of town.

Jaylon Mascorro (Refugio, Texas) captured the attention of even the most casual followers of Texas High School football last season when he amassed almost 4,500 total yards.

His consistently dominant performances earned him scholarships from Houston, Kansas, Rice, and SMU.

Plenty more are definitely on the way, and that could include one from the Longhorns after the performance he put in at Texas' Elite Quarterback Academy that began Monday and just wrapped up.

Mascorro was one of a handful of QBs that met with UT quarterbacks coach Shawn Watson after the camp was over. While he didn't receive an offer, the likelihood of him getting one improved greatly after his time in Austin this week.

I stayed after and spoke with Coach Watson and he said that he's going to really recruit me hard and that he and Coach [Charlie] Strong will have a meeting Monday or Tuesday to offer another 2017 QB."

Mascorro though he did really well at the camp. From what we have heard, he was as well.

I think I did good," he said. "There were a few drills and drops I've never done before but I got the hang of it quick, jumped right in and did well.

We will have much more on Mascorro a bit later once he gets back home. Stay tuned to HornsDigest.com for all the latest.
