Charlie Strong Goes Global

Head Coach Charlie Strong has added yet another piece to the puzzle. Michael Dickson informed special teams coach Chris Vaughn late Wednesday evening of his decision to join the Longhorn Nation.

Michael Dickson is a name most Texas fans are not familiar with but they should be. Dickson recently made a visit to Austin (Texas) from Australia and fell in love with what he saw.

”I feel as though I couldn't be at a better place,” Dickson said. “I'm very proud to be a part of the tradition and culture that the Longhorns are so famously known for. From what I have experienced so far with Texas, I know it's the right place for me. I was amazed by everything about Texas on my visit. The facilities were unbelievable. The city is beautiful. Even though I was on the other side of the world; I felt at home. Coach Vaughn was the coach that was on board right after "Nathan Chapman Prokick Australia" contacted him. Coach Larson and I spent a lot of time together and went over some things; and I'm feeling pretty confident.”

Michael Dickson will fit right in with the Texas Longhorns.

”Most people were shocked when they found out that most Aussie punters don't come from Rugby, but come from Australian Rules,” Dickson said. “When you know the difference you know what we can do with the ball.”
