You'd be hard-pressed to find someone who did themselves more good on Saturday at Texas' camp than Buckley, who was flat-out dominant in 1-on-1 drills.
The young wide receiver, whose only varsity experience came sparingly in the playoffs last season for the state champions, was so impressive that the Longhorns decided to extend him an offer late Sunday night.
“My head coach told me to call Coach [Jeff] Traylor,” he said. “When I called, he offered. It means a lot. This offer means a lot.”
He's excited about the offer but won't let himself get too wrapped up in the moment. He knows he has a long way to go in this recruiting game.
"I would classify it as an offer," he said. "All offers are the best that I have. No offer is better than another."
"My game is different than every receiver," he said. "I play my game how I know how. I’m smooth, I know how to go up and get the ball. I play like me."
Don't expect him to get complacent now that his offers list has grown to three. He's waited a long time to be the guy at wide receiver for the Longhorns... Cedar Hill that is.
"I just had to wait my time and did what I had to do," he said. "My time is now. I’m ready."
