Dream Come True for Sam Ehlinger

Charlie Strong is at it again. Moments ago, standout signal caller Sam Ehlinger informed the Texas head coach of his intentions to play for the Longhorns. The 6-foot, 200-pound signal caller checks in from Austin (Texas) Westlake.

Sam Ehlinger decided to end all speculation and join the Texas Longhorn nation. One of the main reasons is his relationship with Shawn Watson.

”Closer than normal,” Ehlinger said. “Coach [Shawn] Watson and I have a great relationship.”

Ehlinger has always known deep down his heart was with the Longhorns. He could not be happier about making this decision and will represent the program on and off the field with tremendous character.

"Its kind of like finishing a really good book,” Ehlinger said. “The book has lasted 16 years and it’s all about my dream and finishing the book. Now, looking forward to the future and the next chapter.”

With Texas landing commitments from Shane Buechele in 2016 and now Sam Ehlinger in 2017 the future of the quarterback position in Austin is set for the future. Texas is off to a great start at the skill position in 2017 with wide receiver Damion Miller and now Ehlinger both on board.
