The Arlington Lamar Vikings started off their 2015 campaign with a win, defeating Richland 30-29 in Thursday night's season opener.
Led by Texas quarterback commit Shane Buechele, the Vikings managed to nab the lead early on, and though Richland faught back, Lamar intercepted a failed two point conversion for the game's winning score.
By his own admission, Buechele called his passing game "sketchy," though he managed to find success running the ball and had a beautiful 38-yard touchdown pass late in the game, thrown immediately after having his tooth chipped.
Buechele finished 8-18 for 115 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in the 30-29 win. He talks about the season and his commitment to the Longhorns in the above video.
