”We just had a scrimmage last week,” Collin Johnson said.  “Our season opener is this Friday.  I’m looking forward to watching the Texas game and everything about it.”

”Week one went really good for me,” Gerald Wilbon said.  “I had two sacks and two tackles in our jamboree game.  I’m just looking for Texas to play a good game and play hard.”

”I had a lot of pancakes week one,” Tope Imade said.  “We plan to beat Cedar Hill this week.  I am really looking forward to seeing the 2015 recruits Connor [Williams] and Malik [Jefferson] and how the team performs as a whole.”

”I am looking forward to seeing how the spread offense is going to work in this first game of the year,” Tren’Davian Dickson said.  “Week one went great for me, felt good to be back on the field and caught the ball well and made plays.  I just need to get my routes more crisp, learn from my mistakes I made in the last game and continue to make plays and lead my team.”

”I am hoping to improve,” DeMarco Boyd said.  “I hope they (Texas) improve.”

“I’m excited for the game this weekend to see all of the hard work show out on the field against a big time program like Notre Dame,” Shane Buechele said.  “It’s a great first matchup and will be fun to watch the new offense get rolling.”

“I’m excited for Texas to go out and prove themselves and show all the doubters what Texas is all about,” Peyton Aucoin said.  “This past week we had a jamboree and we won 40-7.  Starters got pulled after the first 15-minute half so I only got about a quarter worth of playing time.  Our first real game is this Friday vs. Plaquemine and plan on going out there and making a big statement week 1.”
