Instant Analysis: Longhorns commit Obi Eboh

What exactly are the Longhorns getting in four-star cornerback Obi Eboh (Southlake, Texas/Carroll) and why is he so important to UT' in 2016

Texas secured its ninth commitment of the 2016 class Saturday when four-star cornerback Obi Eboh announced his pledge to the Longhorns. The Southlake Carroll prospect received an offer from Texas Tuesday, and it didn't take long for him to pull the trigger and commit. Eboh is the first defensive back commitment in this class.

Eboh has quick feet and a keen ability to cover ground. He has excellent football instincts and is quick to read opposing offenses. His size makes him different than most cornerback prospects. At 6-2, 187-pounds, Eboh has the versatility and experience to play either corner or safety at the next level.
Texas has extended more than two-dozen scholarship offers to secondary prospects. After signing five DB recruits last year, the Longhorns will likely take only a handful of cornerback and safety prospects this recruiting cycle. One to keep an eye on is four-star Waco standout Eric Cuffee, who is on an official visit to Notre Dame this weekend and will be in attendance to see the Longhorns take on the Fighting Irish.
