Charlie Strong didn’t exactly sound too confident about getting starting right tackle Kent Perkins back this week from his knee injury he suffered in the third quarter against Oklahoma State. Perkins did not play against TCU.
"He's day-to-day," Strong said.
Strong sounded a bit more confident about getting starting defensive end Shiro Davis back this week after Davis missed the TCU game with an injury.
"We'll get him back later this week," Strong said.
The Longhorns are taking a wait-and-see approach with wide receiver/punt returner Daje Johnson, who was injured on Texas' first possession and did not return.
"When he got hit, for a minute, he didn’t know where he was," Strong said. "We checked him yesterday, checked him today. We’re not going to put him out there until he’s ready to go."
Freshmen linebacker Breckyn Hager has a high ankle sprain but he’s not sure on a timeline for his return.
