Standout Tight End Major Tennison has joined the Longhorn Nation

The Texas Longhorns have added another piece of the puzzle for the class of 2017. Tight end Major Tennison ended the recruiting process moments ago and will join the Longhorn Nation. He checks in at 6-foot-6, 250-pounds from Bullard (Texas) and is rated as a three-star prospect according to

Head coach Charlie Strongs decision to hire legendary Texas high school coach Jeff Traylor has paid off in a major way.  Not only has Coach Traylor contributed to the offensive side of the ball, but his tireless work on the recruiting trail is paying off.  Traylor played a huge role in landing Damion Miller, one of the top overall players in the state of Texas for 2017.


As for Major Tennisonand the rest of his family they are overjoyed to join the Longhorn Nation.


“It feels unbelievable to get to join such an elite group,” Major Tennison said.  “When you think of college football, you think of the Texas Longhorns, at least in my opinion that’s how it is.  The relationship between Coach [Jeff] Traylor and I is really good and I am very excited to get to have him as my position coach.  My family and I both feel that Coach Strong is a fantastic coach and an even better man that looks out for his players on and off the field.”


As a sophomore, Tennison caught 20 passes for 379 yards and five touchdowns.  He joins four-star quarterback Sam Ehlinger as well as four-star wide receiver Damion Miller in the class of 2017.
