Keepin' up with the Commits

In today’s edition of Digest’Em, we take a look at how some of Texas’ commits performed this weekend.

Longhorn quarterback commit Shane Buechele continues to have an impressive senior season. Buechele led the Arlington Lamar Vikings to a 44-21 win over Arlington with a stellar stat line of 13-for-18, 223 passing yards and three touchdowns. The 6-foot-1, 181 pound senior also amassed 118 yards on the ground and two touchdowns.

Buechele is the No. 1 rated quarterback in Texas, No. 8 in the nation at his position and checks in at No. 179 in the Scout 300.

Texas commit four-star wide receiver Reggie Hemphill-Mapps scored a touchdown in Manvel’s 73-7 rout of Alvin.

Hemphill-Mapps caught three passes for 54 yards. During his senior season, he’s caught 18 passes for 371 yards and four touchdowns.

The 6-foot-1, 175 pound senior receiver is the No.6 rated wide out in Texas, No. 23 in the country at his position and No. 113 in the Scout 300.

2016 Three-star linebacker Demarco Boyd displayed his versatility in Gilmer’s 45-19 win over Canton.

The 6-foot, 215 pound Texas commit was able to scoop a loose ball and return it 25-yards for a touchdown on defense. Boyd was also able to pound his way into the endzone with a 7-yard run as a running back.

Boyd is expected to play linebacker as a Longhorn. He comes in as the No. 9 outside linebacker in the state.

While Texas wide receiver commit Tren'Davian Dickson had a down game in Navasota’s 31-7 win over Sealy, he’s had a highly productive season.

Dickson had a season-low two receptions for 39 yards against Sealy. The week before, he amassed 221 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Dickson has recorded 895 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns in seven games.

The 5-foot-11, 171 pound senior is the No. 2 wide receiver in Texas, No. 5 rated wide out in the nation and comes in at No. 32 in the Scout 300.

A sneak peek at Texas’ 2017 quarterback commit – four-star junior Sam Ehlinger threw for 371 yards and six touchdowns in Westlake’s 55-3 win over Hays.

Ehlinger has amassed 1813 yards and 24 touchdowns in seven games. He’s also run for 628 yards and 11 touchdowns on 83 carries.

Ehlinger is the No. 6 ranked quarterback in Texas, No. 21 rated signal-caller in the nation and checks in at No. 237 in the Scout 300.
