Injury Report: Longhorns Getting Healthy

Charlie Strong expects several of Texas' players to be ready to go against Kansas State.

From an injury standpoint, the bye week could not have come at a better time for the Longhorns.

“I think those guys will be ready to go this week,” Charlie Strong said.

That includes starting right tackle Kent Perkins, who has missed the last two games, and the fourth quarter against Oklahoma State, with a knee injury.

“Perk is still day-by-day,” Strong said.

Strong thinks defensive tackle Hassan Ridgeway, who suffered a shoulder injury against Oklahoma, will be ready.

Strong did not mention wide receiver Daje Johnson (banged up against TCU) or Poona Ford (shaken up against OU), but both should be ready to play this week.

Freshman linebacker Breckyn Hager is still day-to-day after suffering a left ankle injury at the tail end of the TCU game. He’s been walking with a boot and crutches since the injury.

Edwin Freeman, who hurt his shoulder against Cal, is working back “but he will not be ready,” according to Strong.
