If the name sounds family for Texas fans it should. Grayson Reed is the younger cousin of Cedric Reed. The four-star offensive tackle has offers from Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, Boise State, Illinois, and North Texas. Reed is in the beginning stages of the recruiting cycle and is enjoying the process.
“The recruiting process has been fun and exciting,” Grayson Reed said. “I worked hard in the offseason, and that hard work is starting to pay off! My family is very supportive in my recruiting process and very excited for me. They will play a big part of my decision on where I will commit later down the road.”
What advice would Reed give to a player starting this process?
“The advice I would give to other players that are going through the process is stay humble, thankful, and continue to work on becoming the best teammate and player that you could be!”
The four-star offensive tackle has been impressed with Charlie Strong.
“I am a big fan of Charlie Strong.,” Reed said. “I like the fact that he's a competitor; I like his drive to be the best and to push his athletes to be the best! Most importantly he cares about his players as young men and teaches them to be leaders! I've been a Longhorn fan since I was a kid. I think the Longhorns are a competitive big time team that will also show up to compete!”
What makes Reed a great prospect?
“I think my strength is being technically sound whether it's pass set blocking or run blocking,” Reed said. “Being explosive and physical at the point of attack, but also knowing proper foot positioning and hand positioning something I always work on. I think that's what make me one of the top recruits!”
Reed plans on visiting Texas Tech, Oklahoma, TCU and Baylor next month if he can work it into the schedule.
