John Brannon One to Watch

Outside linebacker John Brannon currently holds one offer from Stephen F. Austin and is looking for more.

John Brannon is a 2017 prospect from Dallas (Texas) Prosper. The 6-foot-, 220-pound rising junior is coming off an impressive season ending with over 100 tackles, 27 for loss, five sacks, three forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.  Brannon has been frustrated at times with the recruiting process but understands it takes time.

“I would tell anyone to work on your skills and focus on what you can control,” John Brannon said.  “The process doesn't seem to make a lot of sense so don't let it get to you. All you can do everyday is work to get better and make plays.”

Brannon has been impressed with what Charlie Strong is doing with the Texas Longhorns football program.

“From what I see Charlie Strong is moving things in the right direction,” Brannon said.  “He is there to develop a winner and find players not just trying to find blue chippers.  I don't think I am a top recruit and am definitely under the radar.  I am going to make some team really happy and the teams that passed on me miserable.”

Brannon has upcoming visits scheduled to SMU Mustangs and Baylor Bears coming up over the next two weekends. He may try and get to another Oklahoma game before the end of the season.
