2017 DT Deiontae Watts Visits the Texas Longhorns

College coaches can never have enough defensive tackles. It is one of the most important positions on the field. Deiontae Watts is 6-foot-3, 300-pounds from Plano (Texas) Plano East High.

One name for recruiting fans to keep an eye on is defensive tackle Deiontae Watts.  The 6-foot-3, 300-pound junior made an unofficial visit to Austin this weekend as Texas hosted Kansas.

“My overall experience of the trip was amazing,” Watts said.  “The school and stadium is outstanding.  The performance by Texas was awesome and their energy they give off after everything they do is really cool and the crowd spirit is awesome as well.  I would love to come back to Austin no doubt.”

Watts spent most of his time with teammate Anthony Hines.

“I shook hands with the players,” Watts said.  “I didn’t really talk individually with the coaches.  I don’t know what’s next but when it comes I’ll be sure to take on whatever it is.”
