Denzel Okafor Commits to the Texas Longhorns

One of the top uncommitted players on the Texas recruiting board is Denzel Okafor. He is no longer uncommitted as moments ago the 6-foot-4, 290-pound offensive tackle announced his intentions to play for Charlie Strong and the Texas Longhorns.

Denzel Okafor is one of the most heavily recruited players in the state of Texas regardless of position.  He holds offers from TCU, Texas, Oklahoma State, Arkansas, Baylor, LSU and Oklahoma to name a few.  He appeared to be down to TCU and Texas for some time but has decided to end the speculation and commit to the Texas Longhorns.  Denzel Okafor is a huge addition for Charlie Strong and the Texas Longhorns 2016 recruiting class.

Okafor is the 11th player to commit to the class of 2016.  Okafor joins Malcolm Roach, Obi Eboh, Peyton Aucoin, Andrew Fitzgerald, Gerald Wilbon, Tope Imade, Shane Buechele, Demarco Boyd, Reggie Hemphill-Mapps and Collin Johnson.

Okafor is the second offensive linemen in this class joining Tope Imade. Texas fans can expect to see at least two more offensive line players by the time National Signing Day arrives. Take

Okafor has a wide array of skills as a lineman and should provide some roster versatility for his college as he could honestly play tackle or guard on the next level. He has good length for his height/weight ratio, but also looks to be able to add the size to take on the bigger interior players if needed. He moves well in the open field and can get to those blocks on the second level. Shows great leadership up front and is a team captain.
