Charlie Strong and the Texas coaching staff handed out a pair of offers to two Detroit teammates on Tuesday

Does Texas have a chance?

Despite their struggles on the field, Texas is still finding success on the recruiting trail having garnered three verbal pledges in the last two weeks.

Hoping to capitalize on this momentum, Charlie Strong and his staff decided to extend a pair of offers to two Scout 150 national prospects from Detroit King High School on Tuesday, WR Donnie Corley and DB LaVert Hill.

It's going to be extremely tough for the Longhorns to get either of these players this late in the process. However, Texas has been in contact with both recruits for quite some time and both are expected to visit.

Corley is expected to make his commitment announcement on Dec. 8 and the belief is that he will pick Michigan State.

If Hill does not stick with Penn State, the Spartans or Michigan are both thought of as favorites.

The biggest thing for Texas in regards to both of these recruits is whether or not Strong can get them down to Austin. If that happens you can never count UT out.
