Newest Texas Verbal WR Davion Curtis Up Close

The Texas Longhorns secured a verbal commitment from wide receiver Davion Curtis giving them 12 verbal commitments for the class of 2016. Curtis is a speedy playmaker from Temple (Texas) He holds offers from Texas, Colorado State, Georgia, Houston, Kansas State, Minnesota, North Texas, Oregon State, Texas Tech and Tulsa to name a few.

For Curtis and his family, committing to the University of Texas was something he has always dreamed about.

“I’m so excited and truly blessed that I am getting to receiver the opportunity to pay with the Longhorns,” Curtis said.  “He (Charlie Strong) really likes my film and thinks I am extremely fast.  He was excited about me and couldn’t wait to see me in that burnt orange.”

Davion Curtis brings something to the table the Texas offense desperately needed, pure speed.  Coaches always say the one thing they can’t coach is speed and the newest Longhorn has plenty of speed he will put to good use.

“I have speed and quickness,” Curtis said.  “I am a guy who has god giving talent that no one has and I run good routes and have great hands.  I can play the slot or the outside.”
