We keep tabs on who the Longhorns coaching staff has visited during the contact period

Texas has done a nice job recruiting the state of Louisiana this recruiting cycle and that includes getting a commitment from their lone tight end verbal pledge.

When was Visit: Monday

Which Texas coaches: Brick Haley

Importance of Visit: It was critical that the Longhorns recruit the tight end position well after the Devonaire Clarington debacle in 2015, so Aucoin's commitment is up there with the most important in the class. He's a high-motor player with the type of mean streak you want just enough of on your football team. He blocks like a linemen but has good enough hands to be a factor in a collegiate passing game. He's all in on UT but it certainly doesn't hurt to keep tabs on him. And, for as much as this visit was about staying in touch with him, it was also about keeping the line of communication open with his teammate, and good friend, A&M tight end commitment Irvin Smith.

Comment on Visit: "Their brief and we just try and catch up and get some talk. I talk to Irv about Texas almost every day and the opportunities he'll have to excel at such a place. Texas is telling Irv how he has the potential to come on and play immediately and make an impact soon and how bright the future is at UT."

Other 2016 Commitments at his Position: 0

Chance of a Commitment: Committed
