We keep tabs on who the Longhorns coaching staff has visited during the contact period

The Longhorns will check out one of the top remaining uncommitted defensive backs in the country later this week.

When was Visit: Visit will take place on Thursday, Cuffee tells HD

Which Texas coaches: Unsure at the moment but Chris Vaughn will likely be one of them

Importance of Visit: The Longhorns have a lot of work to do with Eric Cuffee, who seems to be trending toward Notre Dame, Texas A&M, and Baylor at the moment. Any time spent with Cuffee at this point is huge. Texas would be wise to send more than one coach to see him and try to convince him to come back to Austin for a visit on Dec. 12 when Texas will have a ton of recruits on campus.

2016 Commitments at his Position: 1 - Obi Eboh

Chance of a Commitment: 3 out of 10

Evaluation

Locking down one half of the field, Cuffee is not a prospect who many quarterbacks in the Waco area tested often in 2014. Do not expect that to change. He is a very physical player at the position and moves well for a guy who is around 190 pounds, as his 4.10 pro-shuttle time indicates. He is a good tackler and is not a liability in run support. Teams trying to get outside on his side of the field will quickly find that out. - Greg Powers
