Eric Cuffee to Host Texas

At 5-foot-11, 189-pounds, Eric Cuffee is one of the most heavily recruited defensive backs in America for the class of 2016. He holds offers from TCU, Texas, Auburn, Mississippi, Notre Dame, Arkansas, Baylor and Michigan to name a few.

My Take

Eric Cuffee checks in from Waco (Texas) and is one of the hottest prospects in Texas.  His strengths are body control, change of direction and his size.  The four-star defensive back is ranked as the No 7 ranked corner in Texas.  TCU and Texas continue to be the front-runners for Cuffee and his family.  I think we could see some twists and turns with a few things moving forward.  The Eric Cuffee recruitment is about to get a whole lot more interesting in my mind.

Texas is scheduled to have an in-home visit with the Cuffee family later today.

Scout.com Take

Locking down one-half of the field, Cuffee is not a prospect who many quarterbacks in the Waco area often tested in 2014. Do not expect that to change. He is a very physical player at the position and moves well for a guy who is around 190 pounds, as his 4.10 pro-shuttle time indicates. He is a good tackler and is not a liability in run support. Teams trying to get outside on his side of the field will quickly find that out. - Greg Powers
