Will Michigan Standout Donnie Corley Visit Texas December 12th?

Charlie Strong and the Texas Longhorns coaching staff could host double-digit official visitors this weekend in Austin. This will be the first official visit weekend for Texas. One player, Donnie Corley is scheduled to attend this weekend but will he?

Donnie Corley checks in from Detroit (MI) King at 6-foot-2 ½ 187-pounds.  The four-star standout could play either side of the ball at the next level.  The Corley family scheduled an official visit to Texas for this upcoming weekend but will they?  Corley is currently in New York as a U.S. Army All-American Player of the Year finalist.  Corley joins Brandon Peters, Shea Patterson, Simi Fehoko and Derek Brown as finalists.  Corley will return to home on Tuesday and will sit down with his family and discuss the upcoming trip to Texas Longhorns this weekend.

If close friend and cornerback LaVert Hill ends up at Michigan, it could sway Donnie Corley in the decision-making process.  The Corley family holds defensive coordinator Vance Bedford in high regards and could host the Texas coach this week for an in-home visit.  In my estimation I would not expect to see Donnie Corley, Junior make an official visit to Texas this weekend.  If he or his father would like to continue talks with Coach Bedford, then Texas may allow them to visit in later January but I will be somewhat surprised if they bring him in this weekend.

Scout.com Take

Long armed kid with good height. Corley has to keep filling out and getting stronger. Excellent ball skills and ability to go up and get the football. Very reliable, sure-handed and has the athleticism and body control to adjust to passes in the air. Smooth in and out of his breaks and creates good separation. Can still get faster and improve his open field ability after the catch. - Allen Trieu
