Kristian Fulton to meet with Texas

Charlie Strong and defensive coordinator Vance Bedford are always on the lookout for the next lock down corner. Kristian Fulton, at 6-foot, 175-pounds fits the description. Defensive line coach Brick Haley will visit with Fulton later today.

My Take

Kristian Fulton checks in from Metairie (LA) Archbishop Rummel as one of the top players in the country regardless of position.  Fulton has great closing speed, hands and recovery ability.  The Four-Star corner has elite speed with exceptional athletic ability.  Arkansas, Florida, LSU and Mississippi are four teams to keep an eye on as Texas is trying to close the gap. Defensive line coach Brick Haley is scheduled to visit Fulton early this afternoon.  Kristian Fulton is scheduled to take an official visit to Texas this weekend.  Texas could see as many as 11 official visitors in town this weekend with five being from Louisiana including Fulton. The other four could be Peyton Aucoin, Irvin Smith, Jamal Pettigrew and D'Andre Christmas-Giles.

Scout.com Take

Fulton does so many things well. When you are grading a top cornerback, he has checks in most, if not all the boxes. Has shown the ability to play on and off coverage. Has good short-space quickness at the line of scrimmage. His reaction is good to quick wideouts, and his recovery speed is a real strength. Good frame with the ability to play physical. A solid tackler in one-on-one situations. Ball skills are a real plus.
