Official Visit Preview -- Lil'Jordan Humphrey

The Texas Longhorns are sitting with 13 verbal commitments for the class of 2016. They will look to sign a full class when National Signing Day finally arrives the first Wednesday in February roughly one month away.

Head Coach Charlie Strong and the rest of the Texas Longhorns coaching staff are about to embark on an epic journey to NSD.  Over the next 31 days, Texas fans will see numerous high school football players make their pledge to join the Longhorn Nation.  Texas will sign somewhere in the neighborhood of 12-14 more players for the class of 2016.

With three official visit weekends left, look for Texas to bring in double-digit players on the weekend of January 16th, 2016.  The dead period ends on Thursday, January 14th, and the staff will be out in full force once again blanketing the state of Texas before returning to Austin to finalize preparations for the official visitors. One such player, Lil'Jordan Humphrey will make his official visit that weekend.

Lil’Jordan Humprey is a 6-foot-4, 200-pound four-star athlete from Southlake (Texas) Carroll High School.  Humphrey holds offers from California, Texas, Texas Tech, Washington and Wisconsin to name a few.  Long thought to be a Big 12 battle between the Bears and Longhorns, I like where Texas sits right now with Humphrey and his family and I love his game.

Inside the Numbers

Class 2016

Scout Overall Rank No 297

Position Rank No 26

Midland Athlete Rank No 4

Texas Athlete Rank No 4 Take

Best rated as an athlete, but you don't often see players in the mold of Humphrey, who can play running back and still not look too big to do it at 6'4-6'5. It speaks of his athleticism overall that he can run with a consistently low pad level and cut and dash the way he does in the open field. He put up big numbers against some serious competition in the Dallas-metro. He could end up at numerous spots once he gets to college. -GP
