HornsDigest's William Wilkerson caught up with four-star DE Mark Jackson at U.S. Army All-American Bowl practice on Monday

Jackson (Cibolo, Texas/Steele) has been committed to Texas A&M since May 30, 2015. Is he solid with the Aggies or could other schools, like the Longhorns, make it difficult on him?

As far as I was concerned he was the best defensive end for the West on Monday, continuously getting by the opposing tackle with a quick first step.

Evaluation

Jackson spends most of his time playing in high school with his hand on the ground, but he is an all-around very athletic defender with great speed. He is an aggressive force and has stood out rushing the quarterback and making plays behind the line of scrimmage. He will do well chasing down players in the backfield and running sideline-to-sideline if he moves to outside backer in college. But he could also be a hybrid DE/OLB, splitting time. - Greg Powers
