Head Coach Charlie Strong and the rest of the Texas Longhorns coaching staff are about to embark on an epic journey to NSD. Over the next 29 days, Texas fans will see numerous high school football players make their pledge to join the Longhorn Nation. Texas will sign somewhere in the neighborhood of 12-14 more players for the class of 2016.
The most recent addition to the Texas class is offensive tackle prospect Jean Delance. Texas fans should see him make his official visit the weekend of January 16th with a host of top tier prospects. Delance joins Tope Imade and Denzel Okafor as the three offensive linemen committed in this class. Look for the Longhorns to bring in two more offensive linemen over the next 29 days.
Delance checks in from Mesquite (Texas) North Mesquite High School. The 6-foot-5, 270-pound Delance has good arm length, explosion and quick feet. He, like any high school offensive linemen will need to add weight and strength but when he does the sky is the limit for the No 63 overall ranked player.
He is a true offensive tackle prospect who can project out as a left tackle or a 'blind side' tackle. He moves well and is light n his feet in pass protection and shows true aggression as a run blocker. Finishing to the whistle and securing blocks down the field of the second and third levels. He has a long and lean frame and looks e=light for a 280-pounder. He will be able to add good muscle and weight as he matures giving him high upside. - GP
