Four-Star DT Stephon Taylor Set for Texas Official Visit

The Texas Longhorns are sitting with 13 verbal commitments for the class of 2016. Texas will sign a full class when National Signing Day finally arrives the first Wednesday in February.

Head Coach Charlie Strong and the rest of the Texas Longhorns coaching staff are about to embark on an epic journey to NSD.  Over the next 29 days, Texas fans will see numerous high school football players make their pledge to join the Longhorn Nation.  Texas will sign somewhere in the neighborhood of 12-14 more players for the class of 2016.

January 16th, 2016 could be a monumental official visit weekend for Charlie Strong and the Texas Longhorns. Texas could host as many as 18-20 recruits combined with official and unofficial visits.  The next player tentatively scheduled for the 16th is the four-star defensive tackle, Stephon Taylor.

With over 30 scholarship offers, defensive tackle Stephon Taylor is one of the most heavily recruited players in the country.  Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Florida, LSU, Miami and Texas are but a few fighting for his services at this time.

Taylor checks in at 6-foot-6, 280-pounds from New Orleans (LA) McDonogh Senior High School.  Auburn and LSU could be leading the pack, but Texas has a great opportunity to make a lasting impression for Taylor and his family on January 16th.  Taylor has visited Texas and will return with his parents.  Texas is in the market for a few good men and Taylor fits the description.
