Jeffrey McCulloch Ready for Texas Official Visit

The Texas Longhorns are sitting with 13 verbal commitments for the class of 2016. Texas will sign a full class when National Signing Day finally arrives the first Wednesday in February.

Head Coach Charlie Strong and the rest of the Texas Longhorns coaching staff are about to embark on an epic journey to NSD.  Over the next 24 days, Texas fans will see numerous high school football players make their pledge to join the Longhorn Nation.  Texas will sign somewhere in the neighborhood of 12-14 more players for the class of 2016.

January 16th, 2016 could be a monumental official visit weekend for Charlie Strong and the Texas Longhorns. Texas could host as many as 18-20 recruits combined with official, unofficial visits and early enrolle players.  The next player tentatively scheduled for the 16th is four-star linebacker Jeffrey McCulloch.

Jeffrey McCulloch checks in from Houston (Texas) Davis High School.  The four-star standout outside linebacker is one of the most talked about recruits across message boards in the state of Texas.  McCulloch is very physical, aggressive and extremely athletic.  Alabama, Florida, Notre Dame, Stanford and Texas are but a few schools fighting for his services at this time.  His last two official visits will be Texas this weekend and Alabama tentatively scheduled for the 23rd of January.  I like where the Longhorns sit at this time.

Scout.com Take

McCulloch has plus size and runs well for a linebacker. He is versatile and could probably play inside or outside, but excels on the edge of the defense in high school. He is very good at shedding blockers and playing in traffic. He is solid hitter, needs to work more on form tackling at times instead of trying to deliver a knockout blow, but he is definitely not shy to contact. He has ideal size, big time athletic ability, and makes plays. - GP
