University of Texas sophomore guard/forward Jordan Barnett informed the coaching staff earlier today that he intends to transfer, per UT
My take: This was a player that I had high hopes for, a 6-7 wing with slashing abilities in high school that could really light it up. His biggest issue at Texas was confidence, or a lack thereof, which led to him not getting PT.
It was the right move for him to transfer, because I just never saw him being a factor in the long run, at least the way he envisioned. However, it does leave Texas without another body this season and they are starting to wear thin. Barnett could have played the 4 at times if needed and, with the way Texas' big get into foul trouble, was probably going to get his chances in spot.
But, overall, the right move by him. The timing just isn't great for UT.
Stats: Barnett averaged just 3.3 points per game in four games this season.
