Denzel Okafor Official Visit to Texas is Set

The Texas Longhorns are sitting with 13 verbal commitments for the class of 2016. Texas will sign a full class when National Signing Day finally arrives the first Wednesday in February.

Head Coach Charlie Strong and the rest of the Texas Longhorns coaching staff are about to embark on an epic journey to NSD.  Over the next 20 days, Texas fans will see numerous high school football players make their pledge to join the Longhorn Nation.  Texas will sign somewhere in the neighborhood of 12-14 more players for the class of 2016.

January 16th, 2016 could be a monumental official visit weekend for Charlie Strong and the Texas Longhorns. Texas could host as many as 22 recruits combined with the official, unofficial visits and early enrolled players.  The next player tentatively scheduled for the 16th is offensive tackle Denzel Okafor.

Denzel Okafor is a three-star offensive tackle prospect from Lewisville (Texas) He has nice arm length, body control, balance and feet.  Okafor is athletic enough to play inside or out at the next level.  He is a valuable member of the Texas 2016 recruiting class.  The offensive line position is a need position for the Longhorns.  Okafor joins Jean Delance and Tope Imade.  Expect the Longhorns to land two more offensive linemen in this recruiting cycle.

Scout.com Take

Okafor has a wide array of skills as a lineman and should provide some roster versatility for his college as he could honestly play tackle or guard on the next level. He has good length for his height/weight ratio, but also looks to be able to add the size to take on the bigger interior players if needed. He moves well in the open field and is able to get to those blocks on the second level. Shows great leadership up front and is a team captain.
