After leading by 23 points early in the second half, Texas hangs on to beat Oklahoma State

NEXT UP: .... What appears to be the worst road trip of the season - at West Virginia (15-2, 4-1 B12) on Wednesday at 6 pm CT followed by a trip to Kansas (15-2, 4-1) next Saturday.

FINAL - TEXAS 74 ... OSU 69

Texas got off to a great start, led by 15 at half and built the lead to 23 points about 5 mins into the second half by attacking the basket.

But then the Horns started settling for long-range bombs - and proceeded to miss 13 of their next 14 three-point attempts as Oklahoma State cut UT's lead all the way down to 3 three different times in the final 2:47.

Eric Davis hit a couple FTs with 20 seconds left and then Jawun Evans drilled a 3 for Oklahoma State with 14 secs left to make it a 3-point game.

Then Isaiah Taylor was fouled and hit both FTs with 13 seconds left for a 73-69 lead.

Jeff Newberry missed a 3 for Ok State, and then Taylor was fouled and hit two more FTs with 5 seconds left to ice the victory!! (OSU missed a 3 at the buzzer)

Texas was 6-of-6 from the FT line in the final 20 seconds - when the outcome was in the balance - thanks to Davis and Taylor.

Horns improve to 11-6 and 3-2 in Big 12 (3-0 at home in Big 12 play)
