With a one-day "Quiet Period" beginning Sunday, followed by a "Dead Period" on Feb. 1, there are literally only a few hours left for the Longhorns to try and sway recruits to join them in 2016.
That's why it is so critical that Texas is able to host two unofficial visitors this weekend [began on Friday] in Under Armour All-American Dontavious Jackson and his high school teammate Chris Brown.
Now, remember, because these are unofficial visits that means that the recruit has to pay for everything. Considering that they plan on staying until Sunday afternoon, that's quite the investment to make.
Popular belief is that the Longhorns and Florida State are in a heated battle for Jackson, who will announce on national signing day.
Brown was just on an official visit to Texas last week. He will also announce on NSD.
