OT Matthew Huhn Recaps his most recent visit to Austin

The Texas Longhorns are coming off a very successful Junior day this past weekend. Numerous players made their way to Austin for the unofficial visit. One player, offensive tackle Matthew Huhn had a great experience.

At 6-foot-7, 270-pounds Matthew Huhn is hard to miss.  The three-star offensive tackle checks in from San Antonio (Texas) Jay High School.  Huhn holds offers from Baylor, Houston, Illinois, SMU and Rice to name a few.

“The overall vibe was amazing,” Matthew Huhn said.  “The campus and stadium were breath taking.  It was cool seeing some recruits that I’d heard stories about and seen articles on, and I didn’t talk too much to anybody, but I did have some good conversations with Brenden Jaimes and his family.”

Offensive coordinator Sterlin Gilbert expressed what he would like to see from the Texas offense moving forward.

“The message I got from Coach Gilbert about the new offense was an emphasis on spreading out all the plays and a lot of downhill run plays.”

Huhn was not able to spend time with Charlie Strong but he did enjoy his visit to Austin.

“It was cool seeing him (Charlie Strong) but I never spoke to him,” Hun said.

Players from all across the country paid attention to the way Charlie Strong and company closed out the 2016 class.

“I was honestly surprised to see the 2016 class that they pulled in, but in my opinion Texas will always be a football powerhouse and will always pull a good class.”
