Scout caught up with five-star linebacker Anthony Hines at The Opening regionals in Dallas over the weekend.
The nation's No. 1 ILB narrowed his favorites list to 20 last August and has no further plans to publicly narrow his list until he announces his commitment, which will likely come prior to the 2016 season as he plans to enroll early.
Hines has taken local visits to Texas, TCU and SMU this spring and plans to broaden his visit tour nationwide in the near future.
The following are things that stood out to Hines when he took his local visits:
TEXAS: "It was really an awesome experience. (Coach Strong) told me himself that I'm their top priority for 2017. That was huge. Their facilities are top-notch, education is off the charts and it's definitely just an awesome school overall. I talk to Coach BJ and Coach Bedford all the time, so I'm definitely establishing a bond."
SMU: "SMU is on their way up. Coach Morris knows what he is doing."
TCU: "TCU has already established itself. Coach P is a defensive minded coach so that is always awesome."
