The Nation's Top Safety Jeffrey Okudah Discusses his Relationship with Texas Longhorns Staff

Texas remains in the mix for one of the most sought after prospects in the 2017 recruiting class - five-star safety Jeffrey Okudah.

Scout.com caught up with five-star safety Jeffrey Okudah in Dallas for The Opening regionals. The nation's top safety holds offers from all over the country, but mentioned Ohio State, Michigan, LSU, Stanford, Oklahoma and Texas as schools that have stood out to him.

Ohio State currently leads the charge for Okudah's commitment due to the Buckeyes' tradition and winning records over the last few seasons.

But it's too early to count out other programs, including Texas.

The 6-2, 190 pound DB has enjoyed getting to know the Longhorns coaching staff and rated his junior day visit to Texas as a 10.

"The relationships I have with Coach Strong and Coach Bedford (is why Texas visit was a 10). Those guys are going to keep it honest with me throughout the whole process, and I know that's how it is going to be when I get to campus."
