Grant Delpit Looking to Visit Texas

One of the most heavily recruited defensive players in the state of Texas checks in from Lamar High School. The 6-foot-2, 180-pound Grant Delpit is a four-star standout with over 20 offers from around the country.

“Spring practice will be exciting since I get to see teams practice and picture myself where the players are,” Grant Delpit said.  “When I go to practices I’m just looking to see if I fit what they are doing.”

Delpit will try to visit USC, LSU, Oklahoma, TCU, Baylor, Texas Longhorns and Ole Miss this Spring.  He is excited about the recruiting process for one simple reason.

“Visiting the schools and seeing which program I best fit,” Delpit said.

The Texas coaching staff has shown how important the four-star safety is for the class of 2017.

“I talk with coaches on the regular like coach [Vance] Bedford coach [Brian] Jean-Mary coach [Charlie] Williams coach [Brick] Haley,” Delpit said. “They just talk about how I'd be a great fit to what they've got going on.”

Delpit has a major goal he would like to accomplish during his last season of high school football.

“Winning a state title for my team and head coach who's been there 40 something years,” Delpit said.
