TEXAS WOMEN TRYING TO ADVANCE TO BRIDGEPORT REGION will be in the house for the 2 seeded Texas women tonight (8 pm CT) v 10th-seeded former Big 12-mate Mizzou as the Longhorns try to advance to the Sweet 16.

Mizzou features the two-headed monster of SEC Freshman Of The Year Sophie Cunningham, who scored 20 points, and Jordan Frericks, who scored 19 points, in Mizzou's upset of 7th-seeded BYU in Austin on Saturday night.

Texas has way more depth and the size advantage over Mizzou, which hadn't won an NCAA tourney game since 2001.

As long as Karen Aston's team doesn't allow Cunningham and Frericks to go off, the Longhorns should reach the Sweet 16 and a trip to Bridgeport, Conn., where they'd likely face No. 3-seeded UCLA for a berth in the Elite Eight against three-time defending national champion UConn.

"We want to improve on what we did a year ago," Aston told me this morning. "Last year, we went to the Sweet 16, so we're trying to get to the Elite Eight this year and see what happens. I hope we get a really good crowd at tonight's game against Missouri to help us accomplish our goals."

What's on your mind?!?!

* Texas spring football resumes Tuesday. What questions do you have?

* Texas baseball, which has suffered 30 errors in 20 games in an 8-12 start, is still trying to find answers and consistency after dropping 2 of 3 vs Tulane in Austin over the weekend. Does Morgan Cooper start Thursday against the best team in the Big 12 right now - TCU - in Austin as conference play begins? And does that help to settle Texas down if the Horns can't figure out their roles out of the bullpen?

* March Madness was beyond madness ... did UNI really follow up its half-court, buzzer-beater victory over Texas in one of the most dramatic finishes in NCAA Tournament history with one of the most dramatic collapses in history - giving up a 12-point lead in 44 seconds?!?! ... Because they couldn't inbound a basketball?!?!?

* Who's left in your bracket?!?! (Congrats to cathorn for leading the HD bracket challenge! I've got 10 of 16 teams left ... but lost Michigan State and Xavier from my Final Four!)
