CB Kobe Boyce Says Yes to Texas

Charlie Strong and the Texas Longhorns keep the momentum going for a strong 2017 class as moments ago the added their fifth verbal commitment for this recruiting cycle.

Corner Kobe Boyce is fresh off his unofficial visit to Texas this past weekend, the 6-foot, 165-pound defensive back has seen enough.  With offers from Arkansas, Baylor, Texas A&M, Duke, Houston, Iowa State and Mississippi he is one of the most heavily recruited three-star players in the state of Texas.

Boyce checks in from Lake Dallas (Texas) Lake Dallas High School.  He had an incredible visit with the Texas coaches on Saturday.

“My dad, my coach and another teammate of mine came with me,” Kobe Boyce said.  “I think Charlie [Strong] is a great man, and I love what he is doing for the program.  He’s turning it around, and we’ve met before but it was a long time ago when he was first hired, and he toured Texas letting people know how he’s going to change the program.”

Boyce joins an already strong core group for 2017, joining quarterback Sam Ehlinger, defensive end Lagaryonn Carson, tight end Major Tennison and wide receiver Damion Miller.  I expect to see both Boyce and Tennison move into the Scout 300 before National Signing Day arrives in February.
