Future Texas CB Kobe Boyce on his decision

Charlie Strong and the Texas Longhorns landed their fifth verbal commitment for the class of 2017. Cornerback Kobe Boyce joined Major Tennision, Damion Miller, Sam Ehlinger and Lagaryonn Carson.

Kobe Boyce checks in from Lake Dallas (Texas) Lake Dallas High School.  The6-foot, 164-pound lock down corner held offers from Texas, Arkansas, Baylor, Colorado State, Duke, Houston, Iowa State, Mississippi and Texas A&M before joining the Longhorn Nation.

“It means a lot to be part of the Longhorn Nation,” Kobe Boyce said.  “When I toured the stadium and field I thought to myself this is where I want to be.  I love being on the big stage.  What I bring to the table is athleticism, speed and good technique.  I want to improve on all of those things I mentioned because there’s always room for improvement.”

The head coach of Texas played a large role in the decision making process for Boyce and his family.

“I think Charlie Strong is a great man and I like what he’s doing to change the program,” Boyce said.  “He’s a great coach also, and I have great relationships with the Texas coaches and I’m excite to build the relationship more and more.”
