Five-Star ILB Anthony Hines Impressed with Texas Again

Inside Linebacker Anthony Hines is closing in on 100 scholarship offers. The Five-Star backer was scheduled to attend the Texas Spring game with his mom and dad but after a change of plans it was he and his father who attended to watch the Longhorns in Action.

“Definitely the coaching staff,” Anthony Hines said.  “That impressed me the most.  I talked with Coach [Charlie] Strong, [Vance] Bedford and Coach BJ (Brian Jean-Mary) about how I fit perfectly into their vision.”

Hines and his father have visited Texas and spent time with the coaching staff multiple occasions and each time the elder Hines comes away impressed.

“My dad thinks very highly of Coach Strong and his favorite part was visiting with the coaches as well,” Hines said.

Scout.com Take

Hines is a prospect who brings a lot of the qualities to the table that you are looking for in a top-tier linebacker prospect. He can play sideline-to-sideline and he will also deliver booming hits. He is a versatile prospect who could play middle linebacker or outside linebacker once he arrives in college and it is that scheme versatility that has helped him secure one of the nation's most elite offer lists. He is always around the football and collected crazy stats as a junior in 2015. - Greg Powers
