2018 LB Alston Orji Visits Longhorns

Charlie Strong and Texas struck gold with the addition of running back Chris Warren in 2015. In 2018, Rockwall high school will have another player Texas fans should keep an eye on.

Alston Orji is a 6-foot-2, 220-pound athlete that can play inside linebacker, outside linebacker or running back.  He was on hand to watch former Rockwall star Chris Warren doing what he does best during the annual Texas Spring game.

“I enjoyed the football environment!” Alston Orji said.  “One of the best things about football games is the atmosphere, and I felt like the Texas fans create a great atmosphere for the players to thrive and win in.”

Orji had some special attention on Saturday with Coach Brian Jean-Mary.  He is one of the top recruiting coaches in America.

“I spent a lot of time with Coach Jean-Mary, and the linebackers getting to know how they do things,” Orji said.

Orji and the rest of the Rockwall community are proud of what Chris Warren is doing at Texas.

“We loved getting to see Chris Warren play college football in person,” Orji said. “Everyone in Rockwall is very proud of what he's doing down in Texas. I did not get a chance to meet Coach Strong but judging by his team and coaching staff seems like an excellent coach and a great man.”

He holds early offers from Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas A&M.
