There's no denying early enrollee quarterback Shane Buechele put on a show at the Longhorns Orange-White spring game. The true freshman put up 299 yards and two touchdowns in just one half of play. But offensive coordinator Sterlin Gilbert expects more from the quarterback position, and is not in a situation to name Buechele as the starter following the spring game.
"We've still got a lot of work to do, we still got a lot of football left," Gilbert said. "We've got this summer and we've still got two-a-days.
"There's a lot of process. There's still got a lot of evaluations to go through and a lot of reps.
"By no means did anyone play perfect (in the spring game) so there's still work to be done and still progression out of all three of those guys."
Check out what Gilbert said on where Tyrone Swoopes and Buechele sit and how Jerrod Heard will fit into the mix when he returns from injury in this video.
