Tyquez Hampton Talks Football and More

The state of Texas is loaded with skill players in 2017, namely the wide receiver position. One player, Tyquez Hampton has gone under the radar recently, but look for his stock to soar throughout the summer and into his senior season.

Tyquez Hampton burst onto the scene back in the Summer of 2015 when he caught the eye of Scout.com recruiting expert Gabe Brooks at the Adidas Texas 7-0n-7 Championships.  Hampton committed to SMU this past January.  The 6-foot-2, 200-pound offensive standout holds offers from SMU, Kansas, Louisiana-Monroe, Texas-San Antonio and UTEP at this time.

Getting to know Tyquez Hampton

“The Jacksonville Jags are my favorite team,” Tyquez Hampton said.  “Got to rep your hometown team.  My favorite player was Maurice Jones-Drew.”

Hampton can be found playing Madden or 2K, but that’s rare because he’s always doing something that involves improving his game on the field.

“My favorite movie and TV show is Ride Along 2 and Martin,” Hampton said.

“My favorite food is Steak, Crab Legs, and Deer,” Hampton said.

Hampton likes what he sees from Charlie Strong.

“I think Coach Strong is turning the program around, getting rid of all slackers and getting ones that want to play,” Tyquez Hampton said. “Overall the program is on the come up; I have a feeling they are going to be the way they were before.”

What does Hampton bring to the table?

“As a football player I can bring Speed, Versatility, Athleticism, and eligibility,” Hampton said.
