Four-star S Grant Delpit released his top 10 schools Saturday evening. The Longhorns failed to make the cut for the Lamar High School prospect.
Scout.com Analysis - Grant Delpit:
Possessing a great combination of physical gifts and playmaking abilities, Grant Delpit is one of the top safety prospects in Texas high school football's 2017 class. Good frame with above average height and great length give Delpit a high ceiling physically.
Well-rounded safety prospect who's shown he's comfortable playing downhill and in the flats like a hard-hitting strong safety, as well as in the intermediate and deep portions of the field as a ball-tracking free safety. A threat to score if he makes the interception.
Gets his hands on a lot of passes. Sometimes sacrifices tackling technique at expense of going for the big hit, but it's hard to blame his playmaking nature. Aggressiveness and athleticism can occasionally lead to overpursuit, but again, more often that Delpit's tenacious style pays off.
He's a high-major safety prospect who will have a ton of offers from programs across the country. - Gabe Brooks
