Four-Star OLB Will Visit Texas

One of the most heavily recruited players in the Southeast checks in from Buford (GA) Lanier High School.

Four-star outside linebacker Tyler Taylor has offers from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Louisville, LSU, Michigan State, Oklahoma and Texas to name a few.  Taylor has enjoyed the recruiting process and is ready for some visits.

“The attention probably is the craziest thing,” Tyler Taylor said.  “Like this radio show called my number all the way from Norman and was telling me that people are asking about me and all that.  I will be at the Five-Star challenge in Atlanta for Rivals and I will be visiting Texas, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State the first week of summer.”

Why is Taylor being recruited by so many top programs around the country?

“I think the pros are that I'm versatile and have speed,” Taylor said. “My cons are I don't use my hands as well as I should and I'm looking for relationship with coaches and atmosphere of the game.”

Texas will visit Lanier high school soon.

Scout.com Take

Taylor is a linebacker who could project inside or outside on the next level. He is great at going north-south inside the tackle box, but then he is also strong as an edge rusher. He has great length, he has a real burst to the ball, and he can close quickly. His frame will allow him to add good weight and that will make him better at taking on lead blockers and playing against the bigger running backs. Taylor plays within himself and he plays hard. He takes good angles, he works his hands, and he is a player with great upside.
