Lewisville HS wide receiver Tyrell Shavers has trimmed his list to 10 Thursday morning, and the Longhorns have made the cut.
The recruiting process went into overdrive for Shavers following his showing at The Opening Regionals Dallas in early March. After clocking a 4.38 40-yard dash time, the Scout 300 prospect increased his ranking from a three-star to a four-star, and picked up more than a dozen offers from top D-I college football programs.
Scout.com Analysis: Tyrell Shavers
There may not be prospect in the state of Texas who has a star that is rising as quickly as Shavers is. There are not too many prospects out there who possess the combination of skills. He is a mammoth outside receiver with long arms, legs, big hands and tremendous jumping ability combined with 4.38 40-yard dash seed. The scary thing about Shavers' upside is that he is just starting to scratch the surface of his potential. He is very raw with some of his overall skills, but has made huge strides over the off-season heading into his senior year and the reward has been an offer list of a virtual who's who of top college programs. Defenders have to respect his ability to drive them off the ball and beat them for the deep catches, so the rest of his game will open up as a result. He has a high ceiling and if developed correctly could be a high caliber player in college and beyond. - Greg Powers
